The Gun part II
Just a continuation of a previous post on ‘The Gun’ This is act 2
Act 2
Firing his Gauss within the house, Mace was able to put down two of the creatures as the remaining pack huddled behind the debris.
Turning to Savage, “Savage you the Viper cover the hole, Mace and I will take out those bastards in the cover.” Roared Colonel reloading his weapon.
Savage nodded whilst firing through the house.
As Mace followed behind the Colonel, his site caught the approaching mass of the elite Reapers stalking past the house. In a frantic cry, Mace called to the Colonel and pointed towards the approaching force. As Mace knelt down and sprayed the on coming force the Colonel tossed a krak sphere towards the remaining Reapers and watched as they were ripped apart by the explosion.

Kava growled through his maw as he watched the outside pack erupt from the attack. His patience now extinguished as he prepared to charge the opening.

Savage pressed against the wall as he prepared a new magazine into his weapon. While Spade tilted his rifle at the holes edge, he sprayed the area with his Gauss fire. Just as Spade fired down the hallway, Savage spotted the last satchel charge around the privates’ armor pack.
“Private,” growled Savage, “use your satchel charge and throw it in there! Set the charge for fifteen seconds!”
As the warrior flared the inside with his weapon, Spade unlatched the device from his back. Though unfamiliar on how to use such a device, he scanned the surface and found the written instructions for using the charge.
1. Tear stick safe padding from back
2. Apply to surface area
3. Set timer at counter: hr / min / sec
4. Press red start
5. Find safe distance
6. Watch the fireworks
Spade tapped the red nubs of the satchel and set the timer as instructed. He pressed the start switch and hurled the device through the hole. As he screamed to Savage to run for cover, the behemoth had grabbed hold of Spade by the collar and pulled him to safety.
Turning to Mace and the Colonel the beast roared, “Get down!”

The Terrains are on the run, thought Kava. With a thrust of his blade the pack charged towards the opening. Just as Kava came to the foot of the opening he was propelled through the hole and collided, head first, into the hard surface of the ground. The jagged and thick mesh of housing debris snapped his head as he fell upon the ruin.

The interior of the house erupted in a brilliant flash of fire. The shockwave vibrated through the Gourra Gun and scared the pilot into firing the main cannon into pack group still outside the protection of the Terrain cave dwelling.

With the Gun discharged and the Reapers confused in the assault, the Colonel ordered his team to rush the pack hiding in the ruins.
Leaping over the bodies and tattered road Mace charged in wilding spraying his rifle into the Reapers. His attention was focused only on taking down the enemy before the Gun could melt his being. His mind seemed to leave his body as he watched himself charge in with the Shara’khan, thrusting his rifle into the gullet of a Reaper and firing the last of the magazine into its flesh.
In retaliation the eldest commander ordered his remaining platoon to charge the Reapers. With a thrust of his cy-arm the power encrusted limb smashed into one of the reptilian beasts and scattered its muzzle into flying debris of blood and bone.
With the last Reaper pack struck down, the Colonel turned towards his surviving marines.
“This isn’t over yet, Rockets flanked that gun from behind.” Turning his attention towards his three companions the Colonel pointed towards the lost Rockets from the Nest attack. “Mace, Spade and Savage grab those rockets and the hit that bastard where it hurts!”
Without arguing the marines moved on, the eldest brought his men behind the Gun and fired their volley into the back end of the floating behemoth.

In surprise the Gourra Gun pilot turned his prized possession around the meet the attack and charged his cannon.
“Filthy Terrains’sess, I melt you good!” he hissed as the charge reached maximum.

As the Gun turned towards the rear rockets, Mace aimed through the monitor of the launchers. The locking controls targeting the hulk. Without waiting he squeezed the firing pin and felt the rocket fly from his heavy weapon and whiz towards the Gun, impacting against the main cannon.

As the pilot prepared to fling his plasma bulb towards the marines, he felt the explosive tilt along the side of his gun. His screen flashed in an overload warning as the weapon prepared to fire. Scratching madly at the controls he tried to cancel the shot. But his efforts ended in vain as the interior of his precious device erupted in a brilliant glow of blue.
