The brain is like a computer when damaged
Okay, this has been on my mind all week and I have to get this off of my chest some how. Last week, while in a computer lab, I was working on my 3D model and waiting an hour for class. Then this one individual comes in, someone I know was a little mentally unstable (I use unstable over the word retarded since I find the word offensive). He comes in and goes to the instructors work station, which I knew was meant for instructors and/or T.A.s only, and start to get onto the machine. My first thought was he was doing something as a TA and making the machine ready for the instructor. But no, he gets on and starts to play this music in class. My next thought was ‘he’s listening while he works, I guess.’
Then he tells us: “I am playing music for you, my class mates while you work.”
Now I’m thinking what the fuck! He’s getting onto a station meant only for the instructor you don’t mess with the instructor’s work place that’s like an unwritten law, or common sense. His music choice wasn’t even my personal favorite.
Well long story short: One of the students for the class was a TA, he told the kid he was going to get in trouble if he did that again, and that he was disturbing the class. So he left, acting like he was doing a good thing then left with no problems.
My rant about this is, “How the fuck do you deal with someone like that?” Seriously, how do you. I mean I knew the TA and he handled this kid pretty well, I get nervous trying to handle people like that because I don’t want to end up beating the crap out of him if he should hit me for telling him “No, you can’t do that!” I’m not kidding, I’m too scared to talk to them about what they can and can’t do, it’s easy when you tell that to a young child like age 5 – 10 but how do you tell it to someone whose 18 – 20+ and is mentally disabled?
But I mentioned this story too talk about this thought I have about a mentally disabled individual. Now I don’t have a lot of science research on the subject, just stuff I’ve observed over the years, because I’ve been around people like this. The human mind, is an extremely complex device. Of all the organs in our body (stomach, heart, lungs, gal bladder) we do not know what or how a brain functions. To me the brain is a lot like a computer. Think about it for a minute: your computer runs on a power supply, it needs memory to store its data, it can have memory deleted (or forgotten), it can be taught what to do and not do, it can be given it’s own look, and it gets sick. Now imagine if you’re computer starts to slow down or crash it’s due to many possibilities: not enough memory storage, one of the essential components to run is missing or damaged, etc. It was this thought that made me think about the human brain as like a computer. Since people who are mentally disabled or otherwise act as they act is due because their brain is missing some of the essential components too run. So maybe like the Ram isn’t properly developed or missing, the RAM is disconnected somehow, there was less memory installed than expected, I don’t know the possibilities are endless.
I think if we look at the human brain and think of it as kind of like a computer we might be able to fix it and maybe even upgrade it to the next level. If nothing else we should install the latest patches for the hardware.

I know exactly who that is. He freaks me out.
Another time a lab tech just asked him to turn it down a little and he started saying he was really mad and things like that. It was just plain weird.
It had also been just a few days after the Va.tech sho.ot.ing and all I could think was if he is that kind of looney.
Seriously, he was freaking me out.
