Paddington Bear on Google:
I thought this was actually kind of kick ass. I got on Google this morning and saw that it was the anniversary of Paddington Bear. I saw the little bear on the Google icon and thought “Oh hey, I haven’t seen that in years!”. I started to do some research into the lovable Bear and found some videos on Youtube and an article in Wikipedia. I still think it’s pretty cool that Paddington Bear was named after a train station in the UK. I did not know that.
Now I look at this and thought: “Man what else was on with Paddington Bear at the time?” I started to think back to the times when I was a kid and loved to watch what ever was on TV. I would watch things like:
- The Gobots
- The Real Ghost Busters
- Smurfs
- Thundercats
- Tiger Sharks
- Transformers
- G.I. Joe
- Care Bears
- He-Man
- She-Ra
- And anything else that was a fun and lovable cartoon for it’s time.
Now don’t go laughing at me if you find that a guy like me would watch something like She-Ra and Care Bears, because if you know what it is then I bet you watched it when you were a kid too…jack ass.
These cartoons were around in the 80s and mid 90s. Then when the 90s really came around we had some really sweet cartoons like:
- The Cartoons of Fox Kids
- Eeeek! The Cat
- Super Dave Osborn
- X-Men
- This one cartoon by Jim Henson with a Dog writing a comic book about a cartoon detective dog, it was on Fox Kids and it escapes my thoughts DX.
- Bobby’s World
- Doug
- Ren & Stimpy
- Rocko’s Modern Life
- Anything on SNICK (a Friday night show on Nickelodean)
- Anything non cartoon on Nickelodean like Clarissa Explains it all (much love to the actress <3)
I just thought I would share this and see how many others remember the good ‘ol cartoons from years ago, and not the crappy ones we see now like Ben 10, Chowder, and some of the Anime imports.

I enjoyed a handful of the 80’s list, but this was mainly through watching the re-runs on Channel 4 at 5am when my dad went to work (I made him wake me up so I could watch them before school!)
The 90’s lot were my more full-on afternoon shows. I loved stuff like Ren and Stimpy, Rocko’s Modern Life, Doug and that whole Nick lot. Ah the memories…. “SPUNKYYYYY!!”
Clarissa was awesome – Melissa Joan Hart – also Sabrina The Teenage Witch =) I think I also had a think for Alex Mack.
